Used cars like the Mazda Tribute were first built and launched back in 2001. It was the Companies first entry into the SUV market in Canada. The Tribute is based and designed on the popular Ford Explorer but uses a slightly different flare, to give it a look of its own. The Mazda tribute can also brag that its 2011 model has the highest rating for fuel efficiency in the FWD, four-cylinder, manual transmission. My investigation will be on the Mazda tribute as an used automobile to look at.
Over all I will be looking at Mazda Tribute stats from 2002 to 2011. I did however look at a 2008 used Tribute. The Tribute is a five-passenger, four-door wagon, which comes with a lift gate and with an opening glass. It comes in the "I" and "S" models for Sport, Touring and Grand Touring. All Models come in either a front-wheel drive or an all-wheel drive platform. Common safety features that come with all models are front-side airbags, curtain-side airbags ABS brakes, traction control and an antiskid system. The Hybrid model does not include traction control or an antiskid system; they are not made available to that model.
There are different gas statistics from 2002 to 2011. In 2002 the Tribute had a fuel rating of 10.2-litres per 100km, for city driving and 7.9-litres, per 100km, for freeway driving (FWD, four-cylinder). The all-wheel version had a fuel rating of 10.8-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.7-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The six-cylinder FWD, had a fuel rating of 12.6-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.8-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. The six-cylinder AWD, had a gas rating of 13-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 9.3-litres, per 100km, forhighway driving. In 2005 the six-cylinder, FWD Tribute had a fuel rating of 12-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.8-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. In 2005 the six-cylinder, AWD Tribute had a gas rating of 13.3-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 9.9-litres, per 100km, for freeway driving. In 2011 the four-cylinder, FWD Tribute had a gas rating of 9.1-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 7.1-litres, per 100km, for highway driving. In 2011 the six-cylinder, AWD Tribute had a gas rating of 11.5-litres, per 100km, for city driving and 8.7-litres, per 100km, for freeway driving.
There are different motor sizes from 2002-2011 that the Mazda Tribute has to offer. In 2002 the Mazda Tribute offered a four-cylinder, 2.0-litre engine that produced 135 horsepower and a V6, 3.0-litre engine that produces 200 horsepower. In 2005 the Tribute upgraded the four-cylinder engine with a 2.3-litre engine and produced 153 horsepower. In 2008 it upgraded the four-cylinder with a 2.5-litre motor and this produced 171 horsepower. The V6, 3.0-litre engine was the same but increased the horsepower to 240hp.
Let's look at some of the pros and cons of the Mazda Tribute as an used vehicle:
1- There are problems with the transmission fluid leaking which can lead to transmission failure. 2- There are problems with poor quality alternators breaking down. 3- There are problems with engine oil leaks.
